Who is maxi?

I am a Dublin born and bred visual artist whose work explores the city’s shifting character through photography, digital composition, and mixed media. I draw inspiration from the Dublin’s unique character, its gritty architecture, it’s humour, and contradictions of everyday Dublin life, I try to reimagines familiar scenes with bold colour, architectural form, and emotional clarity. I work closely with the guys in the JamArt factory in town and they have been amazing suppporters of my work over the past 10 years.

My work has been described as being at intersection of digital precision and handcrafted detail, as my process often extends beyond the screen, experimenting with physical materials such as paint, print, and layered texture. The result is a collection of contemporary urban portraits that feel both cinematic and deeply personal.

My recent work was included in an exhibition by the Art Riddler who selected 100 odd piece from thousands of submissions, this was a huge accolade for me personally and as a great champion of mental health I was honoured to be a part of the show.

My recent work includes limited edition canvas prints produced in collaboration with The Copper House Gallery in Dublin 8, featuring subjects such as the Central Bank, The Liberties, and the Guinness Brewery. Each piece captures a balance of nostalgia and modernity, celebrating the overlooked moments that define the city’s visual rhythm.
